2016 Annual Fall Conference - HR Transformation: Walking the Strategic Business Partner Talk
The 2016 Annual Fall Conference held Friday, November 4, 2016, was a fantastic event. If you were one of the more than 90 people that attended - "Thank You" for joining us! If you weren't able to attend you missed very informative and thought-provoking presentations from these dynamic speakers:

- Shawn Stokes (Director, Office of HR - Montgomery County Government), Stephayne Maxwell, Esq., (Director of HR, Prince George's County Government), Eric Sanner (Vice President, Aon Northeast Region Health and Benefits Practice), and John Peebles (Sr. Vice President Human Resources, Dimensions Healthcare), on "Transforming Human Resources into a Strategic Business Partner-Insights and Analysis";
- Barbara Talley, of BST and "The Poet Speaks", on "The Neuroscience of Leading Cultural Change and Transformation in Government: An Interactive Exercise"; and,
- Mark Lara, Baltimore District Director, Wage and Hour Division, US Department of Labor, on the "FLSA Overtime Final Rule and Implications for Local and State Governments."

The FY 2017 SALARY and BENEFITS SURVEY DATA IS NOW AVAILABLE!!
The LGPA Board of Directors is pleased to present the FY2017 LGPA Salary and Benefits Survey Results. This survey, the only comprehensive salary and benefits survey designed specifically for the public sector in the Baltimore Washington Metropolitan Area, offers 25 reports on salary and current and post-employment benefits for more than 100 jobs covering five employee cateogories (executive, professional, clerical, trades and public safety) enabling you to gather accurate and timely statistical data and compare key compensation and benefits information across many local and State government jurisdictions and organizations in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area.
The Survey is administered and published by Akron, Inc. and the results are password protected for member access only. Akron does more than just provide the results - their interactive website allows for additional capabilities such as conducting queries and manipulations of the data to more readily analyze the survey results based on your specific informational needs.

WHAT'S HAPPENING AROUND US --CHECK THIS OUT!
Are you looking for a better way to address diversity issues in your organization? Do you want to help your workplace become more inclusive? We know today's workplaces and communities are faced with a renewed focus on addressing social and cultural inequalities. In response, the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights and the University of Baltimore's Schaefer Center for Public Policy are rolling out a new program in 2017 to assist organizations in taking a proactive approach to addressing diversity and inclusion.
Participants in the Maryland Equity & Inclusion Leadership Program will learn diversity and inclusion best practices, enhance their personal leadership and management skills, and become part of a diverse alumni network of program graduates. Leaders from all sectors - public, private and non-profit - are encouraged to apply.
